Plot Summary: Byun Ji Sook (Su Ae), a sales clerk in a department store, gets entangled with a notorious loan shark due to her father's debt. With timeline contraints, she accepts a wad of cash thrown at her in contempt by a guy who attempts to gain sexual favors from her. She goes to a pojangmacha to have a drink and gets intoxicated. She didn't make it to home that night as she faints in the sidewalk where Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon), successor to SJ Group sees her lying in the sidewalk and brings her to a hotel. Min Woo assumes that she is Seo Eun Ha (also played by Su Ae). The latter shares the same facial features and strongly resembles Ji Sook. Seo Eun Ha is the daughter of a politician running for the government's presidential elections; and Min Woo's fiancee. They are both being veered into a political marriage for their own  selfish desires.

Ji Sook's life turns upside down when she meets Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) who is married to Min Woo's sister, Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young). Seok Hoon makes her assume Eun Ha's identity through bribe and blackmail to gain power and the fulfillment of his revenge. Helpless on a hanging cliff, Ji Sook falls to his bait.

With Eun Ha's identity, Ji Sook marries Min Woo as planned. Her good heart confuses Min Woo who is falling for her with each passing day. Her battle became theirs to conquer. As she gets deeply meshed up with Seok Hoon, the more she is determined to conspire against him. Ji Sook vowed to gain her life back and protect her husband that she has already grown to love.

Seok Hoon, on the other hand, does his best to gain control of every situation unfolding both in and out of their household. He tries to stop Min Woo from being named successor in the SJ Group and even conspires with the latter's psychiatrist into gaslighting Min Woo, who suffers from Obessive Compulsive Disorder. Blinded with revenge, no one can stop him.

Ji Sook's long and winding journey to happiness gets more complicated with the jealousy of Seok Hoon's wife. Mi Yeon starts to do her own investigation to uncover the mystery of her husband's infidelity. She learns that Ji Sook is behind Eun Ha's identity. In her own misery, she gets in the way and plot the demise of Ji Sook's mother.

The main characters struggle to triumph their own battle. As to how they do it, find out and watch the 20 episodes of the Mask on the link provided above.

My Thoughts: I was riveted as the episode progresses to 17th and lost interest to get through the succeeding events. I skipped and flipped towards the last. I feel that they over did the twists and turns of the story. It's too much for me! Don't get me wrong please. The Mask is unique in its own right. It's just me as I truly enjoy watching the rom-com type. On a positive note though, I like the funny scenes they injected in the story to keep it balanced. There are cute scenes to watch for! Each cast member did their part well especially Yeo Joong Hoon as he impressively did justice to Seok Hoon's character. It's amazing how he made me hate him, which only proves that he is effective in his role. Will I recommend this to you? Abosolutely!

My Rating: 9/10
