Plot Summary:  Lee Seo-young (Lee Bo-young) and her twin brother, Lee Sang-woo (Park Hae-jin), suffered a miserable life due to their father's poor financial decisions for his own selfish ambitions. To survive and make both ends meet, the siblings engaged themselves to various odd jobs while studying. Lee Seo-yeong held her father accountable for her mother's death thus walked out of his life for good. Determined to alter her current predicament, she continued to work hard  while in law school. A dramatic change in her life took off when she was employed as a lived-in tutor by the Kang family for the youngest son. There she met the eldest son, Kang Woo-jae (Lee Sang-yoon), recently discharged from the army and who had no plans of staying home for good.  Kang Woo-jae fell in love with Seo-young. He pursued her relentlessly despite the latter's hesitation due to her social status and personal insecurities. The former eventually won the heart of Seo-young and tied the knot with her despite the strong resistance from Kang Woo-jae's parents. Seo-yeong lied about her father's death which caused some rift with her twin brother. Incidentally, her father attended a wedding as a hired guest, not knowing that it is his daughter's. Realizing that it was Seo-yeong's wedding, he hid his face to avoid being identified. Prior to the event, Seo-young has lied to her father that she is moving to the US. The lie would keep her father from showing up in her life. Though the father deduced that it was a made up story, he accepted his fate wholeheartedly and contented to watch Seo-young from a distance as he does not want to further complicate his daughter's life. On one of his secret visits, he saved Woo-jae from being hit by a car. Unaware that it was his father-in-law who saved his life, Woo-jae felt drawn to him unconsciously. With his good heart, Woo-jae helped and got his father-in-llaw into a security job in his company. The father didn't stay long and eventually left his post for fear of being caught by his daughter. In his locker, Woo-jae found Seo-young's photo that led him search for truth. He was surprised to find that his savior was, in fact, his father-in-law.

Seo-young found herself unable to attend her twin brother's wedding because of her lies. Having had the same situation as his father's during her wedding, she fled to avoid herself being linked with her brother and be exposed of her make belief stories. This brought anguish to Seo-young for her lies prevented her from attending her brother's wedding. Meanwhile, her marriage with Woo-jae suffered due to the very same reason. Much worse when Seo-young's husband found out that she was taking pills to prevent herself from being pregnant.  Woo-jae demanded for a divorce.

Seo-young continued to perform her duties to the Kang family despite the impending divorce. Her father and twin brother, on the other hand, felt guilty about the divorce as they believe that they played a part on it. Seo-young's father  invited Woo-jae for a drink and revealed to him his past that brought so much suffering and pain to his children. Guilt struck Woo-jae for mistreating his wife but he knew at this point that nothing can be done to alter their situation but just proceed with the divorce.

Back on her own, Seo-yeong resigned from work as judge and put up her own law firm. Woo-jae, however, remained within parameters of his ex-wife. A lot of things came to light to Seo-young as she took reflection upon her life from she was little. She remembered how close she were to her father and how much she revered him. She now came to acknowledge the huge change in her father who has been living in the present as an honest and hard working man. Seo-young finally got to terms with herself and found forgiveness in her heart and reconciled with her father.

The Lee family including the wife of Seo-young's twin brother set out in the morning to visit the grave of their mother. En route to Jin-an, their father overcame with extreme pain and dropped to the ground. He was rushed to the hospital and it turned out that his internal organs were in a mess because he refused to have proper treatment in the aftermath of saving Woo-jae's life when the latter was almost hit by a car. The near death experience wretched the heart of Seo-young but thanked his father for staying alive. Seo-young finally gave voice to her innermost thoughts and feelings to both her father and especially to Woo-jae who was also in the hospital. Finally, when they were about to go home, Woo-jae's father walked in to visit and acknowledged Seo-young's father. He thanked him for saving his son's life and likewise expressed that as parents, they should fix the children's problems. A double wedding was arranged for the twin siblings. This time, Seo-young's father walked her down the aisle to give her hand to Woo-jae. It is the fulfillment of the father's dream.

My Thoughts: At  first, I have apprehensions of watching this drama because of the number of episodes to watch - there's 50 of them and I really wouldn't want to stay that long over one series because there were lots of other series that I wanna watch. But when I finally decided to get in, I find myself totally immersed in the story and just went on and on. This was my first time to watch a Lee Sang-yoon's series and I was totally taken by him. I felt like wishing to find a man that's someone like him LOL. He was just so gorgeous, well dressed and very dignified looking!

So I've read that My daughter, Seo-young hit big time with the highest rating in 2013! I'll be surprised if they didn't! I'm glad to have seen this series. It kept me awake till the wee hours of the morning for several days. There are dramas where I skipped a lot but this one never made me drag the episodes. It got me hooked from start to finish and I can say that this is one of the best I've seen by far!

My Rating:  10/10
