Plot Summary: Two accidents occur in one night in different locations, but they have one thing in common, both victims are named Choi Eun-sol - one sustains a minor injury but found dead in the emergency bed, while the other, fatally hit by a careening car but lives in comatose for months.

Choi Eun-seol (Shin Se-kyungarrives home and sees both of her parents' lifeless body on the floor. Face to face with the murderer, she turns around and tries to run for her life, but the chase ends when she is suddenly hit by a fast approaching car. The murderer watches her bounce up and drop to the ground. The murderer has Eun-seol's name tag, ripped off from her school uniform prior to escape. Investigation shows that a barcode is carved into each of Eun-seol's parents' skin, a work of the 'barcode serial killer'.

Choi Mu-gak (Park Yoo-chunreceives a call from his sister, also named as Choi Eun-seol, who is being treated for her minor injury, but Mu-gak finds her dead in the emergency bed, neck slit open, sheet soaked with blood. He cries in deep anguish as he finds his sister dead.

The lead detective who handles the murder case, Oh Jae-pyo, has placed Eun-sol under witness protection program immediately after realizing that she is witness to her parents' slaughter. Out of pity,  he adopts her and gives her a new identity and calls her Oh Cho-rim. Choi Eun-sol, who is now Oh Cho-rim, wakes up several months later with no memory of the past or whatsoever. Her left eye inexplicably turns blue and through the very same eye, she gains an unusual ability where scents are visible to her in various colors and forms. She can easily track people with the scents she sees. She wakes up as daughter to Jae-pyo and is fully adjusted with her new ability. She is an aspiring comedienne and works as a gopher in a struggling theater company, Frog Troupe.

Mu-gak, on the other hand, loses his sense of smell, taste and feel as the result of the very painful death of his sister. He loses appetite and unable to sleep until his body can no longer sustains, he collapses and falls into a coma for ten days. When he wakes up, three of his senses are gone. He joins the police force to find his sister's killer.

Cho-rim slightly bumps on Mu-gak when she is about to take her car off back to the theater. In her worry, she takes him for a quick routine check up to ensure that Mu-gak is okay. Their encounter leads Cho-rim to help Mu-gak with some of his investigation, eventually, cracking into the identity of the bar-code serial killer with her special ability. The person they both know is responsible for Mu-gak's sister's death, the very same person who is now targeting Cho-rim as his next bar-code victim. Mu-gak is determined to protect Cho-rim at all costs. He cannot lose another person he loves and he will do everything to put the serial killer behind bars.

My Thoughts: Casting is good, unique story line, there's chemistry between the two leads. The love story of Eun-seol and Mu-gak is so natural. There is no one sided love, no bitching and no obsessed third party. I love the kisses and smacks. They just fall in love, awkward at first which is happening in real life, they are just so cute together. I don't mind the attitude of the police force with each other as it intends to make their roles laughable. If there is one thing though, there is a huge opportunity on the technical aspect - like, why did the psycho chose to kill Eun-seol's parents? I know the killer is a deranged character and need not have a reason to kill. He is adopted, traumatized by the adoptive parents, as profiled by the lieutenant and which also came about with the latter's conversation with the killer. Second, how were the parents chosen as the victim? Third, the killer's narrow escape, I find it too lame and hard to process. Fourth, when Eun-seol receives a text message from her dad. She knows she is in the killer's house, why was she surprised to see him there? And I can just go on and on. I know this is based on some webtoon but the production should have developed the story and script writing taken well into consideration. It is truly a nice story put to waste. They could have gone a long way if they meticulously inspected all angles for flawless execution.  Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the story :)

My Rating: 8/10
