Plot Summary: Ji-hwan (Kwon Sang-woo) and Dal-rae (Ha-neul) are best of friends since childhood. As a child, Ji-hwan does not have any friends except Dal-rae and is only good with fighting. His dream is to be an action star greater than Jackie Chan. He is a taekwondo student and works part-time as a stuntman. Dal-rae on the other hand aspires to be an actress, but her timid personality makes it difficult for her to get past one audition after the other. A tension in their relationship can't be helped when they both start dating. Though Ji-hwan is also a friend to Dal-rae's boyfriend and vice versa, they are just not used to having other people around and between them.
Ji-hwan takes his stunt skills to the next level by getting into more challenging but dangerous roles, he succeeds on his first attempt and is overwhelmed with his accomplishment. With too much excitement, he immediately tries to contact Dal-rae for the good news while crossing the street. A vehicle hit him that badly injured his right lower leg which results to amputation. Losing his dream seems to be even greater than losing his leg. He recuperates in seclusion. He shuns everyone even his best friend, Dal-rae, who hasn't been herself since her best friend's accident. Ji-hwan used to cheer her up a lot whenever she's down and she wants to do the same for him to bring him back to his usual self. Dal-rae sends him a video of people who shares the same disability to give him hope and let him know that he can still achieve his dream like them. Ji-hwan sees a glimmer of hope and tries to see the world again but without Dal-rae. After a year of not communicating with her, Ji-hwan shows himself up to greet Dal-rae on her birthday. She slaps him on the cheek, turns around and leaves Ji-hwan with her boyfriend, who then explains the pain he causes Dal-rae for keeping her out of his life. A notebook among Jin-hwa's things sitting on the chair while Ji-hwan is in the restroom catches Dal-rae's boyfriend's attention. He picks it up, flips on the pages and takes it with him to give to Dal-rae. Dal-rae's boyfriend tells her that it is the longest love letter he has ever seen. Realizing her true feelings, Dal-rae tracks the footprints Ji-hwan leaves behind on their doorstep, who attempts to see her on the wee hours of the morning prior to his journey. On his way, Ji-hwan is deep in thoughts about Dal-rae and how he misses her. In an instant, Ji-hwan turns around and retraces his footsteps back to Dal-rae, who is also already mid-way on the path the two reunites.
My Thoughts: I love this movie It has great romance and I am moved by their friendship. They are very close, argue a lot of times but still deeply care for each other. Sang-woo is definitely a hunk and I have always liked him. Both characters have gone through painful times but I am glad that it ended the way I want it to.
My Rating: 10/10
