Plot Summary: Park Jung-hwan (Kim Rae-won) is chief of the Anti-corruption Investigation Division of the Supreme Prosecutors Office, who gains entrance through personal servitude to the newly elected Prosecutor General. Jung-hwan plays a significant role in enthroning his master to the top spot of prosecutors. His cunning ability is so ruthless that no one is above the law. The two partners in crime, rises to the ranks through corruption and blackmail within their political circle. The hardhearted Jung-hwan has given up marriage with Shin Ha-gyung (Kim Ah-joong), a righteous prosecutor, due to his callous political ambitions. Jung-hwan's success is preempted when he is diagnosed with malignant brain tumor, the same disease that caused the life of his father. Jung-hwan seeks treatment from the only surgeon that specializes in his case, who is involved in falsification of medical documents. If the surgeon performs the delicate surgery, then Jung-hwan will free him from charges filed against him. Surgery has been performed, however, only part of the tumor has been removed due to complications the surgeon encountered amid surgery. As a result, Jung-hwan is only given 3 months or less to live from 6 months life limit as initially stated prior to surgery.  Jung-hwan is critically ill. While in the hospital, Jung-hwan's ex-wife is detained and charged with murder she never committed by order of the Prosecutor General to save his older brother from the crime, also thinking that Jung-hwan will never recover from comatose state. Ha-gyung's presence on the crime scene makes her vulnerable to be the fall guy.

Jung-hwan regains consciousness and asks the surprised Prosecutor General to release his ex-wife. Unfortunately, the latter did not take heed as he will placate himself into a tough spot. Jung-hwan uses all the skills he could muster to save his wife from the hands of the person he has served for 30 years. This incident ended Jung-hwan's loyalty and friendship to the Prosecutor General.

Unwilling to take things sitting down, the Prosector General plots downfall of Jung-hwan despite the latter's debilitating health condition. Jung-hwan, on the other hand, takes his last punch before his imminent death to oust the Prosecutor General. This is his last attempt to make things right and to create a clean world for Ha-gyung and most especially to his much loved daughter, Ye-rin. However, his quest proves to be tough to wrestle with the widespread corruption going on in the entire political ring. As Jung-hwan tries to chip off the powers of the high ranking officials, he plunges deeper to the abyss of the unknown. Everyone is interlocked with their own greed and corruption, blackmailing each other to cover up his or her own mess. Jung-hwan now becomes the target of these unscrupulous monsters. As his wife helps him with his battles in both health and fight for justice, Ha-gyung's life is in peril when the Justice Minister runs her over for the chip that would incriminate her to her own fraudulent activities. Jung-hwan is desperate to run to his wife who is now fighting for her own life while he is battling for his own. His decision will make you tremble from your seat as he faces his final curtain.

My Thoughts: This is a very good drama but I'm not sure if everyone will love it. All the actors and actresses are superb with their acting. The girl who portrays Ye-rin is awesome. She is a fine actress at a young age. The father and daughter relationship really stirred my emotions. How many times did their scenes welled my eyes, very touching indeed! Rae-won as always, demonstrated a stellar performance. He is just so damn good from beginning to end. He maybe so hateful from the beginning, but my heart melted seeing his determination to amend his ways and how he protects his ex-wife and daughter - that left a hole in my heart. The setback I see is the never ending twists and turns of the dirty dealings between the prosecutor general and the justice minister. Though the story is riveting as it unfolds, it made me like wanna scream on the screen and pull my hair - seemed like there's no end! There's too much greed and pretty scary too for that matter. You can't help but wonder if something like this is happening in Korea. Anyways, there's so many parts in the drama that has touched my heart. I highly recommend this drama for you. Btw, the drama and its cast bagged multiple awards from different award giving bodies.

My Rating: 10/10
