Plot Summary: As a result of an accident, Lee Moon-ki (Bong Tae- gyu) awakens in the hospital with memory loss. In the police station, a lady appears beside him and reels off information about him in which he is trying to find from a police officer. He has no recollection of anything, not even his own identity. He is flustered with the exact information he hears from the police officer, slack-jawed, he looks back to the lady that is supposed to be sitting next to him but she is nowhere in sight. He tries to recount pieces of information about a murder case he thought he witnessed but he cannot make out himself with the details. The lady officer asks him to come back once everything is clearer to him.
In the unfamiliar surrounding of his home, Moon-ki stirs by a shadowed man in his dream, who turns out to be himself. As he opens his eyes, he sees the image of the lady who sat next to him in the police station earlier, hovering just above him with a friendly smile. Trying to clear his vision with the thought that it is just a dream, the lady shakes her head smiling at him and introduces herself as a ghost. In confusion and disbelief, Moon-ki mutters a prayer to get rid of her. He thinks she's gone but gets really spooked when he sees her still in his house. He runs outside but the ghost tails him around. He lets a scream, making a spectacle of himself with a couple of drunk passerby. Visiting a doctor did not help, she is just there wherever he goes. He tries to ignore her but the ghost, Kim Yeon-hwa (Park Shin-hye), leads her to her funeral. Moon-ki couldn't help but think why she is haunting him. Yeon-hwa is non committal when he asks her. It's up for him to find out which frustrates him. Moon-ki checks his old handy-phone that was razed by the accident as his initial step for finding more about himself, but due to its totaled condition, he spots himself on a dead end. In his work place, the boss rants that two of his employees are out. Moon-ki is slow to defend himself, but since his boss didn't know about the accident, he is being ordered to resume his work immediately. The other employee, Jin-soo, is still on leave.
As he learns, Yeon-hwa works at a flower shop; and as he deals with the bits and pieces of his memory, he finds himself into the building he does not recognizes. Yeon-hwa explains that it's her home. A flash of memory rummages into his head. He visions himself running frantically from where he is and Yeon-hwa, lying lifeless on the floor. Yeon-hwa adds it was during her birthday. Bits of memory come rushing through which confuses him all the more and Yeon-hwa is of little help as her memory can only give her a few. Her consciousness is also fading away. Moon-ki remembers seeing a masked man threatening her with a knife but could not make out any of it. Everything is still a blur.
Back to the police station, Moon-ki explains the reason why they find him in the crime scene. He tells the lady officer investigating the case that there is a third person he remembers, which he thinks as the killer. He could not add anything further than that as his memory is still in fragments. The lady officer tells him to collaborate once his memory comes back and warns him as well to be careful since the killer is still at large.
Moon-ki senses that someone is trailing him. He seizes the opportunity to wrestle with him but he is so surprised and confused when the man following him calls him 'hyung'. The man warns Moon-ki not to reveal anything to the police or they will be both in huge trouble. Flabbergasted, he lets the man go. As he goes through a pile in his drawer, an old photo shows him and Jin-soo together as kids. He later on finds out that the latter was with him in the orphanage. Moon-ki visits the orphanage and speaks with the director, who is worried about them. The director reminds Moon-ki that they are brothers even if they are not biologically related.
In his desire to uncover the mystery surrounding Yeon-hwa's death, Moon-ki returns to the crime scene. He remembers seeing Jin-soo's face in the scene with a knife but the rest is still vague. Back in his home in a pensive mood, Yeon-hwa says that she is leaving him. She only stayed so he remembers her and leave good memories behind. He vows that he'll find her murderer but Yeon-hwa utters that he has already done so much. He asks her to stay but to no avail.
True to his word, Moon-ki volunteers to help nab the suspect. Baffled with the encounter, Jin-soo tries to flee but Moon-ki, with all his strength holds him back. He asks the suspect his motive for killing Yeon-hwa. What he hears is a huge shock too great for him to absorb. The revelation stuns him that he can barely move. Moon-ki ends up confined in the asylum for mental patients. Only one knows whether Yeon-hwa is a ghost or an escape from Moon-ki's reality. He is too consumed with her memory and yearns to see her one more time, just this once. With his deep love for her, Moon-ki will never forget Yeon-hwa.

My Thoughts: A clever story. I was expecting a different ending and I am crushed to pieces. It makes me think what might have been if Yeon-hwa wasn't killed - might have been a love that knows no bounds! It is a pity for Moon-ki losing the girl he loves even before he confesses. What's even more heart-breaking was when Yeon-hwa likes her too! Don't be put off with the uniqueness of the male lead. Though he is not the typical pretty face you usually find in love stories, the actor is a perfect fit to the role. They had chemistry, no doubt about that, despite the age difference and physical attributes. This movie is gonna be worth your while.
My Rating: 9/10
