Plot Summary: Ye-sung is a six-year old girl with a mentally impaired father; named, Lee Yong-go. Ye-sung's father, though said to have an intellect that of hers, dotes on his daughter and is capable of raising her. Ye-sung cares and loves her father so much.

Like any other kid, Ye-sung is also drawn to cute things. For the longest time, she has been eyeing a yellow  Sailor Moon bag in which her father, has been saving up to buy it for her. Everyday, they both go to the store and admire its beauty. Ye-sung is disappointed to see that the bag she yearns to have is being sold to a customer who happens to be the Police Commissioner. She follows her father inside where the latter is trying to point out that he has been saving up for it for Ye-sung. The Police Commissioner becomes aggressive and physical altercation towards Ye-sung's father ensues. With her small physique, Ye-sung tries to stop the incident from getting worse.

Ye-sung experiences difficult times away from her father when they were separated by an incident where her father was unjustly accused of abduction, murder and rape of a minor. The victim, daughter of the Police Commissioner, happens to see Yong-go counting his money while taking his snack. The girl approaches Yong-go and tells him that there is another store she knows that sells the same bag. Leading the way,  the victim slips on the icy pavement that results to a fatal blow at the back of her head. Yong-go tries to resuscitate the girl but a witness passing by, mistakes him as molesting the child. Seeing his disability, the police quickly resolves the case by forcing him to admit the fabricated crimes Yong-go is not guilty of.

Ye-sung's father is apprehended on the spot and locked up while awaiting trial. The sad incident causes father and daughter's separation. Yong-go enjoins with hardcore criminals in cell number 7, the harshest cell with maximum prison security. With the multiple crimes attached to him, the gang leader is not going easy on Yong-go, but he had a change of heart when the latter saves the former from being fatally stabbed by the rival gang leader. In return, the gang leader repays Yong-go by smuggling Ye-sung inside the prison cell so father and daughter can be together once in awhile. The inmates were drawn to the father and daughter relationship which goes to show that Yong-go is not capable of the crimes he is being accused of. Yong-go even saves the life of the warden when a fire breaks out within the prison building. This leads the warden to believe that Yong-go is not a bad man and may have been wrongly accused. He tries to re-investigate and give Yong-go a chance for life with his daughter as he is already sentenced to death. His power cannot alter Yong-go's predicament, but what the warden can do is to turn deaf ears and blind eyes to Ye-sung's smuggling in and out of prison.

In cell number 7, hours prior to execution, father and daughter together with the inmates, celebrate Ye-sung's birthday in advance, where Ye-sung finally receives the yellow Moon Sailor bag from her father.

The warden adopts Ye-sung and raises her like his own. Ye-sung has grown to be a fine woman and lawyer. With the help and support of his adoptive father, Ye-sung re-opens the case of his father to clear him from the crimes he never committed.

My Thoughts: This is a heart-wrenching story and I cried a lot especially on the part where Yong-go is about to be executed. I am so touched while the daughter watched her father go. Their goodbye is just so painful but I am so glad that good things happened to Ye-sung. It's funny that I am so worried about her future. It's good to know that she grows up well. The story is so amazing and the cast are just too incredible! The movie is said to be the fifth highest grossing Korean film.

My Rating: 10/10
